     The meaning of error messages.....

There are two types of error messages you may see when using your handheld computer:

  1. Real error messages, which look like: "ERROR # in ###", for example: "ERROR 4 in 343"
  2. Program warning messages, which are in plain English, for example "NO SUCH TF".

  Real Error Messages:

Almost all real error messages are caused by one of three common problems: low batteries, loose and/or missing screws, or the"Ram Card Eject" button not being pushed all the way to the left. These error messages are almost always "ERROR 4 in ###" and occur in multiple programs that have worked fine previously. Fixing one or more of the three common problems will eliminate these error messages.

In rare cases, a real error message can be caused by entering a number far too large for the program to handle. The most common such error message is "ERROR 7 IN ###." Turn the computer off and on to remove the error. Usually, entering the number was unintentional (e.g. due to a misplaced decimal point) and the error will not reoccur.

  Program Warning Messages:

Program warning messages are used to inform you that you have entered information or given a command that is incorrect or that the computer program does not expect. They should be self-explanatory within the context of what you are doing. If in doubt, please give us a call or email us. We’ll be glad to help.
